- 5 medium potatoes (deskinned and shredded)
- 1 onion (minced)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 egg
- apple sauce
- sour cream
Put the shredded potatoes and minced onion in a large colander. Add salt, and squeeze all moisture out of it. Add flour and an egg to the mixture. Work very quickly, because the longer you take, the more moisture comes out of it.

Make little patties of the potato mixture and fry them in a frying pan on high heat, until golden brown. Do not overcrowd the pan, and use more oil than you think you need.

Serve with apple sauce and/or sour cream.
