Carrot Porridge

Porridge. It is delicious food for the sick, and it is so easy to make. There isn't really a cooking process because everything gets dumped into the rice cooker and the rice cooker does the cooking for you.

Yes, for the past few days, Jas and I were down with a cold. I didn't go to class on Wednesday, and my teacher cancelled my lesson on Thursday because she was sick. Jas worked from home on Thursday and Friday. Yes, we both essentially had a long weekend, but since we were sick, it was just like any lethargic day. 

Porridge to the rescue!


Ingredients
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 1 cup uncooked jasmine rice
  • 5 cups water
  • 2 cubes chicken bouillon 
  • 1/2 pound minced chicken or pork (optional)
Method
  • Put all ingredients in the rice cooker. 
  • Press 'cook'.
  • Wait for the rice cooker to switch to 'keep warm' mode.
  • Enjoy
